Terms of use

Last updated: 1 October 2026

Draft — subject to legal review

These terms govern your use of the Hujah platform, website and add-ins (Word and Chrome). By using the platform or creating an account, you agree to them. If you use the platform on behalf of a firm or organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it to these terms.

1. The service

Hujah is an AI legal assistant that answers statutory questions, reviews documents and drafts text, grounded in and citing text retrieved from published legal sources.

Some features may be labelled "beta"; they are provided as-is and may change or be discontinued.

2. Not legal advice

Hujah is an assistive tool. Its output does not constitute legal advice and does not create a lawyer–client relationship.

Output may contain errors or omissions, and sources may lag behind the latest amendments. You are responsible for verifying texts against their official sources and exercising professional judgment before relying on any output.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 and provide accurate, up-to-date information.

You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account, and must notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

4. Plans and billing

The free trial is limited to the stated number of uses. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled beforehand; access continues until the end of the paid period.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Annual Firm and Enterprise subscriptions may be paid by bank transfer against an invoice.

Founding offer: a discount for the first 12 months for a limited number of subscribers, after which the standard price applies unless you cancel. We appreciate your joining a short feedback call.

Listed prices exclude taxes unless stated otherwise; the invoice states the applicable tax treatment.

When you reach a usage limit, some features may pause until you upgrade or the next period begins.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in breach of professional ethics, and not to attempt to breach, disrupt, reverse-engineer or scrape it, or circumvent usage limits.

You confirm you have the legal right to upload and process the documents you submit, including client documents, and that you observe your duties of professional confidentiality.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of your content (questions, documents and outputs). You grant us a limited licence to process it solely as needed to provide the service to you.

We do not use your content to train models. Your content is governed by the privacy policy and the retention option you choose.

The platform is currently hosted in Europe, and your content is processed by model providers that do not retain data or train on it, as described in the privacy policy.

We mask personal data automatically before it is sent to model providers and check the masked text a second time. Masking is not perfect and we do not undertake that it will detect all personal data; you remain responsible for reviewing what you send, especially if you choose to send despite a warning.

7. Intellectual property

The platform, its design, software and brand belong to Hujah. Statutory texts are public, officially published texts; our role is to collect, organise and index them.

8. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits or lost data arising from use of the platform or reliance on its output.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, with notice where practicable.

On termination you may request an export of your data within 30 days, after which it is destroyed in line with the privacy policy.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and [the courts of Riyadh / an arbitral centre to be specified] have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. [To be confirmed after legal review in light of the contracting entity.]

11. Changes

We may amend these terms and will notify you of material changes a reasonable time before they take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
